    BR1 (2) (1)

District 128 has amazing students, a talented staff, and a supportive community full of connections. Based on a collaborative plan, we will establish a series of experiences for all students that will empower them to explore, plan, and achieve their career goals. Additionally, we will be creating options and opportunities for career and post-high school exploration and skill development. Finally, we will be developing state-endorsed credentials that students can earn in specific career areas.

What does the future of education look like in Lake County?

I believe that the future of education is one of collaboration. I see students, families, communities, businesses, and other organizations uniting to establish meaningful partnerships that support students and the workplaces they will be entering after their post-high school learning.

How do Lake County students stand out, and how can businesses tap into their talents?

Lake County students are diverse, and our education system can meet them where they are, while providing tools and resources to prepare them for life beyond the classroom. Both Vernon Hills and Libertyville High Schools were just recently recognized among the best schools in Illinois and the country by U.S. News & World Report. We are proud to be recognized.

As educators, it is our job to prepare students - whether that is gearing them up for college, or helping them consider professions that do not require a 4-year degree. Lake County has a strong foundation of growing businesses, in industries like life science, manufacturing, healthcare and more. We have the unique opportunity to expose students to a variety of career possibilities and nurture their interests and long-term goals. Strong ties with the community ensure that our students are well-rounded and understand the big picture.
