I grew up on the edge of Chicago, and have always appreciated the beauty of the area. I moved to Lake County shortly after college and raised my children in Gurnee. I now reside in Antioch and take full advantage of the open waters for boating, fishing and plenty of golf! I work, live, and play in Lake County, and I am very proud to call it home and to be the new Chair of Lake County Partners' Board of Governors.
I’ve been lucky enough to spend my 30+ year career with Lake County manufacturers, in a variety of finance and operations roles. I’ve seen Lake County grow tremendously over these years, and it is no wonder that so many companies call Lake County home. Our extraordinary pool of talent, easy access to local colleges and universities, and physical location makes it a very desirable place to set up shop. As Chair, I'm committed to building on the incredible success that we've enjoyed in the community in recent years.
As LCP's Board of Governors Chair, what are your main priorities?
I want to make sure that Lake County companies have all of the information that they need to make informed decisions. I also have an interest in making sure that our residents have a great place to live - that entails strong leadership, solid transportation infrastructure, and housing that meets the needs of all. Fortunately, LCP's close relationships with local leaders, agencies and organizations gives us a seat at the table to advance important initiatives that have a positive impact.
As the COO of a growing manufacturer, what makes Lake County's business climate stand out?
Workforce is #1. In Lake County, we can easily meet all of our needs, and fill positions in advanced manufacturing, maintenance, professional roles and more. Lake County is multi-dimensional, forward-thinking and ready to do what it takes to support businesses and residents alike.
